Harborough Town Centre Pictures
These pictures are from a walk around Market Harborough town centre on Sunday, February 17, 2002. I started on The Square, walked up the High Street and then came back to Church Square via Church Street. Imagine you are taking a walk around the centre of Harborough and different shops and other premises come into view as you go. As this page downloads you will see most of the shops you would see on a real walk.
The pictures show some interesting variation in architectural styles from premises which date from the coaching days including The Three Swans and The Angel to more modern buildings such as the first seven which are on The Square. There are pictures of banks and professional establishments on the High Street as well as public houses, many small boutiques and shops providing many of the necessities of life. And a building at the top of the High Street wouldn't look out of place in the French quarter of New Orleans.
People who know Harborough might agree that it is a very attractive looking town and I hope you think the pictures are worth the few minutes it might take you to download them. There are other beautiful pictures from around Harborough, of more than just shops and businesses, available on these two pages: http://www.stormpages.com/offarex/LocalPictures.htm and http://offarex.tripod.com/LocalPictures.htm (please copy this address into your address window.)
